En ella Sofia Loren viajaba hasta la Unión Soviética después de la II Guerra Mundial para buscar a su marido, Marcello Mastroianni. Todo un melodrama con hermosos campos de girasoles de fondo...
Claro que tampoco puedo dejar de lado a Van Gogh y sus maravillosos girasoles en un jarrón. Esas pinturas, de la época de Arles, supusieron, y no solo para mi, el descubrimiento del impresionismo como otra forma de ver la vida, el mundo...
My relationship with sunflowers has a long history, perhaps since I saw a movie titled like them: "Sunflowers." In it Sofia Loren traveled to the Soviet Union after World War II to find her husband, Marcello Mastroianni. When I’m looking at your marvelous pictures of sunflowers I come to conclusion that your inspiration comes mainly from impressionist painting. Of course movie “Sunflowers” has some influence on your photo presentation, makes you engaged in this art theme. It’s great that old movie was your source of inspiration. I return to old movies from time to time as well. Last week I watched again “Casablanca” with English subtitles - the pleasure with useful ;-). These films have one advantage and a superiority over the many contemporary ones with computer special effect – form doesn’t dominate over the content… but form is clear and beyond reproach. And I can find it in your images. Impressionism is definitely my favorite art movement – perhaps it’s one of the main reasons why I like your “sunflower set” so much. You don’t reproduce the great painters’ ideas in passive way. It appears so much inventiveness, freshness, ingenuity and your soul. The picture “Adoramus te Domine” fulfils masterpiece canon status. I have no doubts. I admire your flexible approach to the sunflower subject – you create landscapes, flower composition in vase, crops just right from field, and even macro without using any special lens, I guess, but with a little help of pp you set free my extra-sensory perception.

preciosa esta serie de los girasoles...sobretodo la primera..es mi favorita...y yo tambien vi ese film..con la Loren e il bel Marcello..
